I was asked to look at Harley Davidson Riders specifically focusing upon style and their relationship with the product. On the surface this was easy to define as the group the World over are bikers, and they wear 'bike gear'. Scratch beneath the surface and the layers of colour and individual definition were and are today fascinating. Harley Davidson is beyond being simply unique. Great brands have a habit of turning up attached to the best of individuals: few have their followers driven to tattoo their name on their forearm and roll their shirt sleaves beyond the elbow to prominently display their loyalty.
This was a wonderful project shot in Europe and the United States. Thanks to all who took part and to Harley Davidson Europe for giving me the freedom and let the work find its own way.
